Chapter 8 - The Red Carpet Premiere

By March, the national streaming release of The Spark Keeper was officially announced, accompanied by a major feature article in an online entertainment magazine and a red carpet premiere event hosted at a historic theater in downtown Atlanta.
This time, the event wasn't just a regional indie festival—it was a formal red carpet gala with professional photographers, interviews, and industry executives.
When our black sedan pulled up to the theater curb, the flashing lights of camera strobes illuminated the night like a thunderstorm. Microphones were thrust forward by reporters shouting questions over the hum of the crowd.
Anna stepped out of the car first, wearing a custom ivory dress with delicate gold embroidery, holding her glittering festival crystal trophy in one hand. She didn't look shy or hesitant anymore. She looked like a seasoned professional who belonged right under those lights.
As flashbulbs popped around us, a reporter from a national entertainment network knelt down beside her with a microphone.
“Anna! Over here! Tell us, what does it feel like to go from being cut out of a home video to starring in a nationally streamed hit movie?”
Anna smiled brightly into the camera lens, her eyes shining with absolute confidence.
“It feels great,” she answered clearly into the mic. “Because it taught me that if people don't want to see your light, you just have to build your own stage.”

The crowd of onlookers erupted into cheers, and the reporters chuckled in appreciation of her wisdom.
I stood right behind her, watching the flashing lights reflect off her shining hair, feeling a wave of fierce, unconditional pride wash over me. We had walked through the fire of rejection, betrayal, and quiet heartbreak, and we had come out the other side untouchable.
