Chapter 4 - 2: Vesting of Primary Corpus. The entirety of the Seven-Million-Dollar principal shall vest exclusively in the first living, legitimate male descendant of the Cole bloodline born within twenty-four months of my death.

"Noah," I whispered, the room spinning. "Noah was born ten months after Arthur died."

"Exactly," Patricia said, taking a tentative step toward Daniel, her hands outstretched in supplication. "He's the only one, Danny. Marcus doesn't have children. You are the only Cole who produced a male heir within the timeframe. Arthur set the money aside exclusively for your child!"

"Then why the hell are you sneaking him out of my house in a fleece jacket?" Daniel roared, slamming the binder shut with a force that rattled the chandelier crystals. "If the money belongs to Noah, it's his! When he turns eighteen, it's his! Why are you trying to smuggle him out of the country?"

Dad stepped forward, his expression colder than ice.

"Because Noah doesn't get the money at eighteen, does he, Richard?" Dad said. "Tell him the rest of the clause. Tell him why you needed physical custody before midnight tonight."

Richard looked away, refusing to meet his son's eyes.

Marcus scoffed, crossing his arms. "Tell him, Dad. He's going to find out anyway."
